The post-method era in teaching English as a foreign language refers to a shift away from rigid, one-size-fits-all teaching methods. Instead, it emphasizes flexibility, teacher autonomy, and context sensitive strategies that cater to the diverse needs of learners. It’s like being a chef who tosses out the old recipe book and starts experimenting to make learning more engaging and effective. Can we say goodbye to the old one-size-fits-all approach and hello to a DIY teaching approach that’s as diverse as the learners themselves? What are the challenges?
